In the wake of one of the worst natural disasters in Queensland history, the D’Aguilar Highway through the Blackbutt Range was closed as a result of major landslip damage along an almost a 2.5km stretch of the road. The highway has been reconstructed to 2 lanes.

Reconstruction works to rebuild this important transport route included geotechnical stabilisation works, extensive excavation, drainage and pavement works. All reconstruction works comply with current road design, safety, geotechnical and environmental standards.

The restoration and reconstruction of this vital transport corridor has improved safety for the community and transport industry travelling along the D’Aguilar Highway.
